The Sankranthi season is usually a very lucrative season for Telugu films. As a result, there is a whole lot of competition from mainstream Telugu films to lock the Sankranthi release slot.
Incidentally, the makers of Mahesh Babu and Trivikram’s SSMB28 had recently announced the Sankranthi 2024 release plan.
The makers of Prabhas’s Project K had also announced Sankranthi plan but there was doubt on the same. But in the newly released making video, that was unveiled today, the makers of the Prabhas starrer confirmed the Sankranthi 2024 release plan.
This confirms that two Telugu biggies are confirmed to arrive next Sankranthi season, which is about the standard quota of star hero films for Sankranthi season.
Nagarjuna and Prasanna Kumar’s film also might release next Sankranthi but this isn’t confirmed yet.
Meanwhile, there have been reports that Kamal Haasan’s Indian 2 will also arrive in theaters next Sankranthi. And so are the reports that Pawan Kalyan’s Ustaad will also make its way into theaters next Sankranthi.
Needless to say, the makers of Ram Charan’s Game Changer have also been contemplating the Sankranthi release slot for the film. But this looks unlikely with Shankar’s Indian 2 already in contention for the Sankranthi slot. There’s no way two of Shankar’s films will be in contention for same release slot.
With the 2024 Sankranthi slot already jam-packed with the announcements from SSMB28 and Project K and also the possibility of the arrival of Nag’s next, it is unlikely that other films will lock the already tightly packed Sankranthi window. Meaning, the Sankranthi 2024 window has been closed six months before its onset.
