In a few days from now, Rangasthalam starring Ram Charan will be completing 100 days run at the box office. It is a special film for the star as well the industry as it’s the new Non-Baahubali record grosser. The Sukumar directorial stunned everyone. Will Bollywood also have one on the coming weeks in the question on everyone’s mind?
As everyone knows, Bollywood too has Baahubali 2 as its highest grosser. No big hero film that has released post-BB2 has come close to it at all. It has made Aamir Khan starrer Dangal by default the non-Baahubali hit even though it happened earlier. Incidentally, other star hero films haven’t yet reached Dangal as well.
The latest release Sanju, starring Ranbir Kapoor and directed by Raju Hirani seems like the first real threat to Dangal. If that happens, Sanju will be termed as the new Non-Baahubali Industry Hit in Bollywood. The trend so far is positive, but Sanju needs to sustain at a considerable level for three weeks at least to get to Dangal. A real picture would emerge on the second Friday and the weekend. Until then all one has to say is that the journey has begun well.
