Sanjay Dutt surrenders

Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt was surrendered in a TADA court, Mumbai, a short while ago. Clad in a white Kurta and blue jeans, the actor was accompanied by his wife Manyatha, director Mahesh Bhatt and other family members. It was a huge chaos at the court where the fans and media personnel outnumbered the police. Sanjay Dutt appealed them to allow him to surrender and it took 20 minutes for him to get out of the car and go in to the court. He will be now taken into custody and sent to Arthur Road Jail in Mumbai, where paperwork will be completed. He is then expected to be moved to Pune’s Yerawada jail to complete his prison term of five years.

On March 21st, The Supreme Court awarded five year imprisonment to the actor in 1993 illegal possession of arms case. As he already completed 1 and half years as undertrial, he should complete the rest of the term now.
