Sanjay-Dutt-Jail

Sanjay Dutt who is facing a prison term of three years for his involvement in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts case had got a brief respite when he was let out for a medical parole. He had originally been allowed a furlough of 14 days which was extended by an additional 14 days. However Sanjay’s brief respite is going to end soon and on October 30 and will be back at Yerawada prison where he has already served a sentence of 137 days.

In this regard, the Deputy inspector general (prisons), Rajendra Dhamane has informed that Sanjay Dutt will be getting back to jail on October 30 by by 5 pm. As such he will not be able to join his family for Diwali celebrations which begins just the day after Dutt’s return to prison. However, the divisional commissioner Prabhakar Deshmukh did not speak a word about the issue of granting parole on medical grounds to Dutt.
