Akshay Kumar delivered another disaster in a span of 10 months in the form of Samrat Prithviraj. His last two disasters were Bell Bottom and Bachchhan Paandey. But Samrat Prithviraj, touted to be a 300-crore project, is one of the biggest all-time disasters of Indian cinema, and the production house Yash Raj Films is all set to lose more than 150 crores.
The film collected a mere 55 crores in the first week. The second weekend looks dismal, and the film will wrap up its lifetime business below 70 crores.
The overseas business struggled to touch $1 Million, which is an embarrassment. The film has been outrightly rejected by the audience worldwide.
If reports are to be believed, Samrat Prithviraj will now debut on Amazon Prime Video within four weeks of its release. The film should be available for viewing for its OTT audience from July 1st week. The box office failure has pushed YRF to revise its OTT deals.
