People believe that a part of Samantha’s popularity must be accorded to singer cum dubbing artist Chinmayi’s voice which became synonymous to Samantha’s voice. Chinmayi got huge appreciation not only as a dubbing artist but a seasoned singer.
She is the favourite of music maestro AR Rahman and also sung in Bollywood in the music direction of AR Rahman and Shekhar Vishal. With a classical background, Chinmayi’s voice had deep rootedness and that shows when she delivers a challenging song.
But she is very apprehensive when it comes to songs that have vulgar lyrics. She says that she even turned down some songs for their vulgarity. She is really particular about this aspect.
Coming to trying different generes and experimenting, Chinamyi believes that it’s upto the music directors to choose to experiment with different genres. if given a chance, she would try something out of her comfort zone.
