The big reveal of this biggie has truly come as a surprise. After rumours about several heroines did the round; it is finally revealed the Samantha will be doing the project.
The biggie in question is Shakunthalam. It is a period epic love story helmed by none other than Gunasekhar. Samantha is now officially confirmed to play the title role in what is expected to be an epic.
What’s more, Shakuntalam is made as a pan-India project. It will mark the launch of Samantha on the national level. It is one of the many firsts she will have with Shakuntalam. Of course, Samantha will be seen in the second season of The Family Man, but Shakuntalam is first as a movie star.
Samantha’s subject selection in the past few years has been excellent. It adds to the hype surrounding Shakuntalam. Gunasekhar’s last big film is Rudhramadevi which came five years ago.
