samantha-1

No one needs to acknowledge that Samanta is the queen of Tollywood at present. She is one top heroine who has maximum number of releases this year. Last year she had the industry hit, Pawan’s ‘Atharintiki Daredi’ to her credit. However she signed off the previous year with a flop ‘Ramayya Vastavayya’. 2014 started on a very delightful note with the success of Akkineni family movie ‘Manam’. She was critically acclaimed for her dual role performances and said her performance in the film remains the best till date.

But her happiness was short lived because of the poor outcome of Chaitu’s ‘Autonagar Surya’. Next came Bellamkonda Srinivas’ ‘Alludu Seenu’ which showed Samanta in never seen before glamorous avatar. The skin show shocked and amused the audience simultaneously. That film is said to be a hit. Nevertheless, trade pandits claim it doesn’t come under the umbrella of commercial hit. Finally on 15th August, the much awaited ‘Anjaan’ was released.

As Samanta feared, the film didn’t do according to the expectations and Samanta retained her tag as flop heroine in Kollywood. Since the movie was released as ‘Sikindar’ in Telugu and publicised in lines of a straight Telugu movie, its poor box-office performance hit Samanta’s hits record in Tollywood even. Two big flops in the same year seems to be a sign for Samanta hitting low in her career. The only saviour which can resurrect her career and keep her reigning in TFI is NTR’s ‘Rabhasa’. After that she has no Telugu movie on sets except for Trivikram-Bunny movie which didn’t go on sets till date.
