At the music launch of Asha Bhosle’s acting debut Mai, the two of India’s legends, Sachin Tendulkar and Asha Bhosle shared the stage. The film in question sees the veteran Indian playback singer making her acting debut at 79 years old and releases on February 1, 2013. It is directed by debutant director Mahesh Kodiyal and features Ram Kapoor and Padmani Kolhapure as Asha Bhosle’s son-in-law and daughter.
More about the two legends present at the event, Asha had nothing but good things to say about Sachin who was and still is an inspiration to her. “I’ve known him since he was 16,” she said, “and as I watched him grow over the years, I thought if he could do it, I can do it, too. Like a fruit-laden tree, Sachin jhukte hee ja raha hai… (even with growing fame and success). Even today, he has taken time out and come here, although he had to be somewhere else.”
