The first single from Saaho, Psycho Saiyan is out. The first impression that one gets is that of confusion- is the song in Hindi or Telugu? The second one is that it is underwhelming.
The combination of tune, lyrics, and singing makes one wonder if Psycho Saiyaan is, in fact, a Telugu song. The real instant reaction is that of a shocker. But, the single is definitely not a bad one, it is underwhelming.
If one is following the Hindi music scene for the past few years, Psycho Saiyaan fits perfectly into the mold. It is a typical club number that one might have heard many times. Tanishk Baghchi, the music director, specializes in efforts like this that get people instantly hooked. It happens when the tune and beats are in sync and the lyrics effective. In the case of Psycho Saiyaan, the beats are catchy, for sure, but everything else isn’t on the same level.
Still, the music feels far better when we look at the video. It is mainly due to Prabhas, who looks entirely uninterested. He is just going through the drill with no real effort, and it shows. One hopes that is not the case with the rest of the movie because the looks are under scanner.
The Rebel Star Prabhas and Shraddha Kapoor, starrer Saaho is directed by Sujith. UV Creations produce the movie on a grand scale. Saaho hits the screens worldwide on August 15th for Independence Day.
