Saaho will complete its first week today and totals will splash all over soon. Irrespective of where the final numbers, three winners and everyone else loses with Saaho.
The three winners are Rebel Star Prabhas, Hindi and the Australia market distributors. The rest, which includes the Telugu states, Tamil Nadu and the US is going to lose. The last of them have invested heavily.
Prabhas is now, Indian Rebel Star. He has solidified his following from the Baahubali movies. He is a recognizable face among the Hindi audience. It means his next direct Hindi movie will also get openings. After 2.0, the Hindi distributors are going to make earnings from another South product that is a failure in their ‘own’ territory.
Finally, if Prabhas has gained the most, then Sujeeth has lost equally. He has been the face of the debacle for Telugu audience. Everyone has criticized his clumsy screenplay and direction. He is putting a brave face and has the Hindi market as a relief. But losing the trust of the local audience trumps them. We have to see what he comes up with, in his next outing.
