Though on all levels ‘Saaho‘ has disappointed the audiences, there is no denying the fact that the day-one collections of the movie have been overwhelming in the Hindi belt. ‘Saaho’ collected Rs. 24 crore nett in the Hindi belt and overall collection crossing 100 Crore.
This happened with all the mixed talk and a non-holiday release with no benefit. This number could have been better if the prints arrived in time in several places in the North belt of the country. Of course, there were no such issues in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
That means Bollywood audiences were ready to welcome a South star with open arms. If the team had utilized this historic opportunity, it would have been written with golden letters in the history of Telugu Cinema.
After Baahubali, a South Star getting this big response is a big thing indeed. But then, everything is wasted. Do you know that at many places the film opened at the level of Salman Khan’s ‘Bharat’ at smaller centres in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Odisha and Bihar?
Though it was a non-holiday release if the movie had opened to positive talk, it would have enjoyed the extended weekend because of Vinayaka Chavithi on Monday.
However, the trade analysts in Bollywood aren’t expecting a drop in the collections on the second day even with mixed talk as ‘Saaho’ will be screened in all the centres including those where the prints arrived late in the North belt.
