The theatrical trailer of Nandamuri Balakrishna starrer Ruler is out. It is the same as the teaser, but with a better view of the core plot. It is a no-holds-barred commercial entertainer the likes of which have been done to death by Balakrishna.
A film in the direction of KS Ravikumar doesn’t hold the same appeal it did more than a decade ago. But, luckily for fans, the combination of the director with Balakrishna surprised with Jai Simha. Could that be the case again? It is the only hope that fans have had so far.
However, the trailer takes the expectations a notch higher, and the name Paruchuri Murali provides some hope. He might not have given big successes, but he could be vital in delivering ‘localised’ content for the mass entertainer. Paruchuri Murali is credited with the story and dialogues here. The cast looks humongous with many known artists. If only care were taken with the various get up’s of Balakrishna, they remain tacky.
The lack of mass movies, especially ones catering to smaller b, c centers could work to Ruler’s advantage. Balakrishna’s presence is an additional boost for them.
