The teaser of Nandamuri Balakrishna’s new outing Ruler is out. it is going to be his first commercial outing after the twin debacles of NTR Kathanayakudu and NTR Mahanayakudu.
Ruler brings together the successful combination of director KS Ravikumar and Nandamuri Balakrishna. They have delivered the surprise hit Jai Simhaa for Sankranthi 2018. While we are at Jai Simha, the movie too had disastrous pre-release buzz and expectations due to the publicity material. However, it turned out to be a moderately average that could work at the B, C centres for the festival period.
The fans are hoping the repeat of the above with Ruler as well. Barring the recently released ‘golf’ still, nothing has worked in the movie’s favour. The teaser that is out now further brings the impact down. It is all over the place with Balakrishna looking haggard at many points. There is also a tacky vibe through it. Still, the dialogue is impactful and aimed to satisfy the fans. It does the necessary.
The only question here is can the director once again come up with an engaging narrative like Jai Simha. If KS Ravikumar can do that, the Ruler may find takers in the mass centres. The total lack of movies catering to them is the biggest advantage of Ruler.
