RRR OTT releaseRajamouli, Jr NTR, and Ram Charan’s RRR is facing the full wrath of the pandemic Covid. The film’s release was already postponed twice due to the Covid outbreak and its subsequent effect on the theatrical industry.

Now, there are rumors that a top OTT platform offered in upwards of Rs 500 crores for the direct to OTT rights of the Rajamouli directorial.

But it needs to be noted that a mere Rs 500 crores won’t be any good for RRR, which was reportedly mounted on a budget of over Rs 400 crores. The said OTT deal amount will barely cover the investments and the the subsequent interest amounts levied on the same, which are a result of multiple postponements.

Also, the theatrical rights of RRR were sold for exorbitant proves for distributors across the globe. It is near impossible to revoke all these deals now and then orchestrate a direct to OTT release.

The end point is that RRR is too big of a project to go directly to OTT. The Rajamouli directorial is an event film and it will most certainly set the box office on fire no matter when it releases.
