He was also known for his roles in films like The Three Musketeers, Thor, and Kill the Irishman. He was just 58.

Reportedly Stevenson died while filming a project on the island of Ischia after being hospitalized Saturday (May 20) afternoon. The reports suggest he died on May 21.

Ray Stevenson, an actor who gained prominence in the early 1990s, has had a consistent presence in both movies and television. One of his breakthrough performances was in the 1998 film “The Theory of Flight,” where he portrayed a gigolo assisting Helena Bonham Carter’s character in losing her virginity. Stevenson’s notable roles on the big screen include starring as the titular character in “Punisher: War Zone,” playing Volstagg in Marvel’s “Thor” films, and portraying real-life mob figure Danny Green in “Kill the Irishman.” His last completed film was “Accident Man” Hitman’s Holiday,” alongside Scott Adkins.

His upcoming projects included the Disney+ “Star Wars” series called “Ahsoka,” set to be released in the summer.

Ray Stevenson will always be fondly remembered for his cruel and impactful act as General Scott in RRR. May his soul rest in peace.
