RRR has wreaked havoc at the box office on the Ugadi festival day. It recorded its best collections after the opening weekend on the ninth day. In the process, it has also crossed the legendary Baahubali 2 in Telugu states creating an All-Time-Record.
Baahubali 2 has collected close to 200 Cr in Telugu states in its full run. RRR has surpassed the number in nine days flat. It has also crossed 200 Cr and currently stands slightly above 213 Cr in Telugu states only.
RRR, therefore, has created a new All-Time-Record. It is the highest collecting Telugu movie ever in the Telugu states. However, it is not yet an Industry Hit as worldwide, it is yet to beat the Baahubali 2 number. Remember, here we are only looking at the Telugu figures only. If one were to look at the overall collections, RRR would fall short.
Here, the bigger picture is four back to back All Time Records (three of them Industry Hits) for SS Rajamouli. His films Magadheera, Baahubali 1 and Baahubali 2 were Industry Hits. RRR is all set to become his fourth one soon. It is a stunning track record, including all the stars in Telugu cinema. The fact that no one else other than Rajamouli again has a chance to break it speaks volumes of his present stardom.
RRR stars Jr NTR and Ram Charan. As and when RRR crossed Baahubali 2, it will be the second Industry Hit for Charan, whereas the first one for Jr NTR. Watch this space for more trade and collection updates of RRR.
