Rajamouli, Ram Charan, Jr NTR’s RRR opened to largely positive reviews today. The film is likely to post new records in terms of box office revenues in the Twin Telugu states. It is already the highest grossing (premieres) Indian film in the USA. But what about the collections of the film in the Hindi belt? Here is a look into it.
As per a reliable box office tracking portal, RRR will collect in upwards of Rs 15 crores nett on its opening day, making it the second biggest grosser post Covid 3rd wave in the Hindi belt after Sooryavanshi.
Bollywood media outlets and individuals have given positive reviews for RRR and it remains to be seen if the film will gain momentum over the weekend, which will play a decisive role in its theatrical returns.
It is estimated that RRR will not beat Saaho’s opening day record(Rs 24+ Cr) in the Hindi belt. The weekend collections are now of great importance for the Rajamouli directorial.
On a related note, Allu Arjun‘s Pushpa: The Rise made a shade over Rs 3.3 crores nett in the Hindi belt on its opening day and it went on to make Rs 100+ crores nett. Now, RRR is likely to get off to a Rs 15+ crores start. We need to wait and watch how this film fares.
