2.0-Sequel---3.0-Akshay-KumarThrough an Instagram post, when ‘2.0‘ villain Akshay Kumar said, Meet 3.0’ in ‘2.0’ sharing a promo featuring Akshay Kumar as the bird and Rajinikanth as Chotu, the micro boy 3.0, several articles have come up discussing the chances of the third instalment in the series titled ‘3.0’. A third instalment is a good idea, but how far would it be feasible?

‘Robo’ came with decent expectations but turned a blockbuster and also a memorable movie for the Superstar’s fans. After a long gap, the second instalment came with the title ‘2.0’ made with a budget of Rs. 510 crores. Though it is having a decent run in many areas at the moment, the movie needs to collect a huge sum so that the distributors land in a safe zone. The kind of VFX they had to use was very costly but the response wasn’t overwhelming.

If the makers choose to make a third instalment, it has to be far better in terms of the content, treatment and of course, the VFX. That means it will become hugely impossible if the next one in the series, ‘3.0’ is made with a lesser budget. When ‘2.0’ is having an ordinary run and there is no shattering of records whatsoever, will ‘3.0’ even be a liability? Making a movie with heavy VFX works is a big struggle in itself. Will Shankar go through this struggle even after the ordinary performance of ‘2.0’?
