The suicide of Jiah Khan came as a shock to all of Bollywood. While members of the film industry expressed their grief in many words, Ram Gopal Verma took to the medium of films to articulate his emotions. Indeed the director, with whom Jiah made her Bollywood debut via the film Nishabd made a short film about her which he then presented to her family of Jiah’s mother and sisters.
The short film is titled The Reel & the Reality of Jiah and consists of two scenes from the film Nishabd where Jiah is in her own element in front of the legendary Amitabh Bachchan. The film sees Jiah talking about life philosophies and as she says “Zindagi ko light leneka…,” the movie fades to black followed by Ram Gopal Verma’s message saying ‘How I wish we all could have made her follow this philosophy in real life too.’
