Maverick director Ram Gopal Varma has found a simple way to keep him in the news. He picks controversial topics or person and then goes about instigating them (or their followers). Then a round of media happens, and he gets the desired publicity.
The method has been successful despite people getting an idea. We recently saw with Powerstar and soon might see it with Allu, as well. However, even the experienced err and RGV seems to have done that with Arnab Goswami.
The critical point that RGV is missing here is Arnab is also a similar personality like him. He also thrives on controversy and sensationalism. But, the more significant distinction here is that the public sentiment is with Arnab in the issue of Sushant Singh Rajput. They are behind him and are happy with coverage and debate that he is providing.
Ram Gopal Varma, trying to instigate him and announcing a film doesn’t hold the same value as a Powerstar or Allu or the few more he has made earlier. In those cases, he always had a segment rallying behind him. It is not the case with Arnab.
More than anything, the timing is wrong. Arnab Goswami is all that RGV accuses him, and he would have people’s support any other time. We have to wait and see what happens further in the case of Arnab – The News Prostitute.
