Rana Daggubati’s ‘Haathi Mera Saathi’ (Aranya in Telugu) has been in the news for many reasons and one of them is about the direct OTT release on a digital platform. Rana cleared rumours in his recent interview stating that they aren’t going for a direct digital release.
So, it wouldn’t be on Netflix or any other platform as a direct release. Obviously, the makers want to go for a direct theatrical release. According to Rana, it’s going to be a big spectacle and experiential in nature and therefore, a theatrical release would do justice to it.
‘Haathi Mera Saathi’ (Aranya) also happens to be in the news in the wake of the recent sad happenings in Kerala regarding elephants. Rana shot the movie with elephants in Kerala forests and reminiscing about his experiences comes as a natural response.
Talking about ‘Aranya’ in recent interviews might have given rise to rumours about a direct OTT release. He played the role of a jungle man who lives in forests with elephants.
