Going by the early reports, the buzz says that the makers of Ram’s upcoming movie ‘RED” are thinking of releasing the movie on an OTT platform as the makers had to change their decision about waiting for a theatrical release.
Coming to OTT releases, the first Telugu direct digital release is ‘Uma Maheshwara Ugra Roopasya’. However, this movie has its limitations though it comes from a talented director Venkateshwara Maha. The buzz will be low because of the star cast among other things.
But, when it comes to Ram Pothineni‘s ‘RED’, if it gets to be an OTT release, the buzz would be huge for any digital platform because of the young hero’s previous super hit mass entertainer and the image he has created with that one alone, separately.
Given the present situation, the COVID-19 situation, one can’t keep waiting for theatrical release forever and anything can happen. The hope is fading too fast as there is no way that the situation can come under control.
The cases are on the rise in India and no way, the theatres would open anytime soon. So, OTT options seem to be unavoidable for the makers. But, let’s wait and see.
