Ram Charan’s Sankranthi release ‘Vinaya Vidheya Rama’ turned out to be one of the greatest disappointing movies of his career not only in the US terrain but also in the domestic market. In the US, VVR’s business came to an end on Saturday when literally one person watched the movie and the movie grossed $13 in the US on the day.
The USA distributors and exhibitors didn’t get a rupee from VVR’s collections and this is the first time that a star hero’s movie had zero share collections. It’s disappointing as the movie has grossed only $ 253 K when the break-even figure for the Ram Charan starrer is $1.8 Million. This disappointment comes right after a career-defining movie like ‘Rangasthalam’ that went on to become a blockbuster.
VVR stands in the top position with regard to the losses in the US. Everyone knows right from the beginning that the Boyapati directorial was going to be a disaster in the US but it is quite rare for a star hero to set one ticket record. Ram Charan has always been poor in this territory. But, VVR is an epic disappointment, a nightmare after ‘Thoofan’. Now, this $13 gross from the entire US is an unique record for a star hero of TFI in the US.
