ram-charan-hrithik

Sometimes one’s loss turns out to be another’s gain. Even before the release of Ram Charan Tej’s Bollywood debut film ‘Zanjeer’, he had been offered to do a Hindi film by director Ashutosh Gowarikar of ‘Jodha Akbar’ fame. It was said that the film maker was impressed by Ram Charan’s performance after watching him in ‘Magadheera’ and decided to cast him in his next period drama ‘Mohenjodaro’. But after the debacle of ‘Zanjeer’ (Toofan in Telugu), Cherry decided to concentrate on Telugu films first and then Hindi after a couple of years.

Seems this decision of Ram Charan turned out to be too expensive because meanwhile Ashutosh roped in Bollywood Greek God Hrithik Roshan to play the main lead for his period drama. Reportedly Hrithik Roshan has demanded a pay cheque of Rs.50 crores for the film as his remuneration. Earlier the actor used to take share in profits of his movies. But this time, Hrithik directly has quoted this huge amount, which is the highest amount for any hero paid in Bollywood till date. Going by Hrithik’s huge crowd pulling capacity and his previous period film ‘Jodha Akbar’s success at box-office, the film makers accepted to fulfill the remeneration demand of the star hero. OMG 50 crores! It is a big film’s budget in Tollywood.
