Rajinikanth's request to Muslim brothers

Kamal Haasan’s multilingual film Vishwaroopam has been in a lot of controversies considering Haasan’s unique approach of DTH release. Latest in line is the conflict the film has entered into regarding the sentiments of the Islamic community. The film is facing a ban of 15 days following the protests of Muslim group.

To the surprise of a lot of people, superstar Rajinikanth has spoken in favour of  Kamal Haasan and has urged the Islamic community to withdraw their protests. “I request my Muslim brothers to sit with Kamal Haasan, discuss and release the film without hampering the storyline. He is no ordinary artiste but an extraordinary one who can take Tamil cinema to all new levels,” said Rajinikanth in a statement.

Meanwhile, the Madras High Court restricted the film’s release till January 28. On January 26, a judge will see the film and decide on its fate.
