The Tamil, Telugu and Hindi versions of Rajinikanth’s ‘Petta’ are coming to theaters on 10th January. But, there is ambiguity with regard to the Kannada version’s release, presently. Though there had been updates that the Kannada version of ‘Petta’ will release simultaneously with the other language versions, it is doubtful now.
The Kannada distributor clearly stated that Kannada version will not come on 11th January. We don’t know if the release date for the Kannada version will be postponed to a later date. We have to wait and see. It was thought that ‘Petta‘ would be the first dubbed movie in Kannada after a long time, i.e., since 1960s. ‘Petta’ was expected to open the gates for other dubbed movies from various languages dubbed into Kannada.
Coming to the Telugu States, the Telugu version of Rajinikanth starrer is going to compete with three straight releases. Among them, there are two big releases in the form of NTR’s biopic ‘NTR Kathanayakudu’ and Ram Charan’s ‘Vinya Vidheya Rama’. Of course, ‘F2: Fun & frustration’ also has its positives to count this festival season. Moreover, the promotions for the Telugu version of ‘Petta’ are relatively very poor.
