Superstar Rajinikanth and Politics is a never ending saga. We have seen the actor changing posts on Politics every few months for several years now. Couple of years ago, he hinted about coming to Politics and started Rajini Makkal Mandram, an association of fans who is the precursor to the party that the actor was widely expected to launch.
But months before the Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections, Rajinikanth announced dropping the plan citing health reasons. Tamil Nadu Elections are completed and the actor met with his fans once again in Chennai.
Before the meeting, the actor talking to media has said, “I will announce my return to politics after consulting with the people’s forum executives”. This gave rise to the speculations in the media that Rajinikanth is reconsidering his decision.
But after the meeting, he released a statement – “I have no interest to get into politics in the future. Rajini Makkal Mandram will be officially disbanded. Rajinikanth Rasigar Narpani Mandrams (Rajinikanth fans associations) to continue doing public welfare activities”.
Yes-No, Yes-No, No-Yes.. there may be no other Superstar who had played with the sentiments of fans like Rajinikanth.
