Now that the effect of Covid second wave is steadily subsiding, South Indian biggies are sizing up potential release dates. The first South Indian film to lock the theatrical release date since the onset of Covid second wave is Rajnikanth’s Annaatthe.
Sun Pictures, who are bankrolling the mass masala entertainer have announced that the film will be out in theaters this Diwali – 4th November. They have unveiled a new poster featuring Rajini to publicize the same.
Annaatthe will most certainly have the Diwali festival season advantage which will invariably boost its box office prospects. However, whether or not it will stick to the release plans will depend on the much-feared Covid third wave.
Tipped to be a full-on commercial potboiler, Annaatthe is directed by Siva. The film features Keerthy Suresh and Nayanthara in the lady lead roles. The first look poster of the film will be unveiled very soon, as confirmed in the release date announcement poster which dropped today.
