Superstar Rajinikanth had one more change in his decision regarding political entry. While he is supposed to announce the name of his political party on December 31st, he backtracked at the last minute. This development has come after a couple of days after he was hospitalized in Hyderabad.
There are reports he is under immense pressure from his family not to foray into politics as he is being under severe mental pressure and that is taking a toll on his health. The 70-year-old-Superstar released a three-page-letter in which he said, “With immense pain, I am making this announcement. I will not be starting my political party”.
That means there will be no Rajinikanth factor in the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections which will happen in Summer 2021. This announcement will leave the Superstar at peace and will allow him to recuperate. Anyway, there is not even six months’ time to the elections. With several comorbidities and the Pandemic around, this move will give him enough room to plan his safety by selectively doing films.
Announcing a political party, taking it to the people, and coming to power is not as easy as said. So, this is a wise decision by the Superstar on all fronts. We have seen what has happened with actors like Chiranjeevi and Pawan Kalyan. It may not be easy for Rajinikanth to go through all that at this stage of life. It has to be seen if he will be still politically relevant by extending support to any party in the 2021 elections.
