Filmmaker Sekhar Kammula who is currently involved in the Telugu and Tamil remake of Vidya Balan starrer ‘Kahaani’ has always had the wish to see superstar Rajinikanth reprising the lead role in a Tamil remake of famous movie ‘Leader.’
Apparently, the filmmaker had once recalled nostalgically in an interview about the time when he excitedly had considered remaking his hit film ‘Leader’ in Tamil with the legendary superstar Rajini as the hero. He said in the interview, “I believe Rajini has the power to change governments.”
Unfortunately for the filmmaker, his plans didn’t come through and he was unable to get connected with Rajini despite several attempts. Moreover, any future chances of this plan working out seems pretty slim as well considering the fact that Rajini is very cautious about his health these days and not quite willing to take additional work strain.
However, Sekhar still keeps his dream alive quoting that, “No one can reach the stardom which Rajinikanth has achieved over the years. He’s an icon.”
