Veteran actor Dr. Rajasekhar’s latest film ‘Mahankaali’, showed him once again trying his hand at the tough cop formula. With Jeevitha as the director of the film and Madhurima as the heroine, the film aimed to portray the age old cop drama of a good cop implicated in a crime. However the antique formula failed to rejuvenate and ultimately proved to be a disappointment.
Added to that was the film’s screenplay which was poorly executed with no proper direction for characters, be it villain or the protagonist. That along with the film’s lack of emotional drama, the whole thing was entirely flat with no intensity whatsoever. The one redeeming thing about the film was Rajasekhar who gave an incredibly powerful performance as encounter specialist in ‘Mahankaali. But overall, the film fell flat at the box office.
