SS Rajamouli is a big name in the global circuit now, thanks to the blockbuster success of RRR in the west. The star filmmaker is now extensively interacting with Hollywood media portals regarding RRR.
When asked if he was disappointed when he got to know RRR was not India’s official entry for the Oscars, Rajamouli had a no-nonsense response.
“Here in the USA, everyone knew RRR had a bigger chance at the Oscars than Chhello Show. Yes, I was disappointed after knowing RRR wasn’t the official entry but we arent the kind of people who would be bogged down by setbacks like theses. The idea was always to push forward no matter what” Rajamouli said.
Rajamouli added that he is happy for Chhello Show as well, given that it is also an Indian film and it too is in contention for the Oscars.
RRR is now in contention for the Oscars in the general category. The film recently won best song award for Naatu Naatu at the Golden Globe. The talk is now about RRR’s chances at the mighty Oscars.
