Rajamouli-on-viswaroopam

Kamal Haasan’s multilingual film Vishwaroopam which has recently been in a controversy regarding the issue of badly portraying the Islamic community has seen a lot of celebrity and political support which includes Superstar Rajinikanth, DMK chief M Karunanidhi as well as PMK founder S Ramadoss. The latest in news is Director Rajamouli who came out in support of Haasan at the same time criticizing the Tamil Nadu government for banning the film which he thinks is a brilliant effort.

On his twitter page Rajamouli wrote that “Usually all commercial films have black and white characters and complex characters are for parallel films. Vishwaroopam is the first Pakka Commercial film that I know which has complex characters which was refreshing to watch. Kamal’s performance as the dance master is extraordinary Makeup and special effects are top notch. I would have preferred a little less gore, but that is personal taste. And Tamilnadu government banning the film is quite shocking. Govt advocate stating that there will be wide spread violence is the home of the year. There’s nothing in the film that hurts the sentiments of the Muslims. Hope the good sense prevails. And wish the producers somehow recover the money that has been lost,” wrote Rajamouli on his Twitter page.
