During an interview with a Hollywood portal recently, SS Rajamouli was asked, “Throwing a leopard at somebody, what action films inspired these incredibly creative action scenes, which are one of your trademarks??”

SS Rajamouli replied that Ben-Hur that’s one example, and Mel Gibson’s films Braveheart, The Patriot, and Apocalypto left an indelible stamp on his mind. Many of his films have had a huge influence on him. He gets really inspired by Gibson’s action scenes a lot.”

Even the scene where Ram Charan whips NTR before the Komaram Bheemudo song is inspired heavily by Mel Gibson’s The Passion of the Christ.

The appreciation RRR is getting worldwide is absolutely phenomenal, and even Rajamouli wouldn’t have imagined it would have such a cultural impact on the audiences in the west.
