Samantha’s Shakuntalam is set for release on the 14th of April and the director Gunasekhar has now sat down for an exclusive chitchat with M9.news over the same. Here’s some interesting snippets from his interview.

“Shakuntalam story in the mythological aspect has a visual poetry associated with it. I just had to incorporate latest technological advancements to bring it to life on screen. Samantha is tailor made for this film. She is impeccable and more so in this role” Gunasekhar said.

About Rajamouli, Gunasekhar said “I too was jealous of Rajamouli at first. But after seeing the way he used technology to craft his films, I was shocked. The way he conceived and executed films like Magadheera and Eega is far superior to any of us. All we can do is admire his films”.

When asked about NTR, Gunasekhar said “it is in the blood of the Nandamuri family to do such mythological epics and it is a treat to watch him emote so ferociously on the big screens.”

When asked why picked Allu Arha over other STR kids, the director said “Genuinely speaking, I first saw her on Instagram reels and identified she had a certain spark. She’s a star in the making. She’s bought up in such a way that she doesn’t know many English words. Her grip on Telugu literature is mind blowing lu good. She spelled all the complex Telugu dialogues with utter ease.”
