SS Rajamouli walked into an unexpected controversy. The ace director, this morning, posted a fund-raising campaign for a woman named Devika who worked as the coordinator for many post-production works of Baahubali. Devika also happens to be a single mother of two.
“Her passion and dedication are unmatched. Unfortunately, she is battling blood cancer. I humbly request to donate funds to the Ketto Campaign shared below,” Rajamouli wrote sharing the Ketto link. The campaign was for USD 400000 or Rs 2.91 Crore.
At the time of writing this article, around 58% of the target has been reached. But then, Rajamouli also received so much flak. Many people are trying to hit the director below belt saying that he is one of India’s highest-paid directors and can easily pay up the entire bill.
Instead, he chose to ask for crowd-funding. They are asking him not to be Kanjoos. While we do not want to be judgemental, Rajamouli, at least, helped her by sharing the link. For many small people like Devika, it was difficult to reach the filmmakers once the movie is wrapped up. Rajamouli’s endorsement will easily complete the target.
