SS-Rajamouli-Coterie-Pressurized-Him-Not-to-Take-NagineeduWhen Rajamouli was making ‘Magadheera’, Nagineedu went to the director for a role in the period drama. Rajamouli didn’t give him a role as there was no scope for him. But, he called Nagineedu for ‘Maryada Ramanna’ and gave him the crucial role in the movie, Nagineedu shared in a recent media interaction.

Rajamouli did this against the pressure of his coterie who wanted some known face for the role. This role and the performance of Nagineedu became a big asset for the movie and earned the character artist huge appreciation and gave him a good career in the Telugu Film Industry.

Though Sunil was the hero in the film, it was Nagineedu who stole the limelight. Nagineedu has a reason for this. He said that Sunil is indeed the hero of the film, only that he was a new face around, his performance was taken note of by the audiences.

Amidst huge expectations after ‘Magadheera, Rajamouli took up a simple film like ‘Maryada Ramanna’ to avoid those growing expectations. Maryada Ramanna indeed made Nagineedu a household name thereafter.
