Oscar winning composer A.R Rahman, who recently walked the red carpet at the Berlin International Film Festival for Imtiaz Ali’s upcoming film “Highway”, says that working on the film gave me an opportunity to experiment with his music, and that it has kicked off the experimental side in him that he plans to bring forth more often in the future.
Rahman says working on the film helped him unleash his creative, which he wants to use more often. In the coming months, Rahman will be extremely busy with a slew of international releases are lined up. He also confirmed that he would compose the tunes for Mani Ratnam’s next bilingual with Nagarjuna, Mahesh Babu and Aishwarya Rai. He says it will be always be a treat to work with Mani, and he can never say no to him.
While the rest of the country says that Rahman has become or will get busier with projects in the West, he says his heart is still Indian, and will remain one forever. He says the most ambitious project ‘Kochadaiiyaan’ is proof to the fact that he’s still an Indian when it comes to composing. He feels proud to be associated with such big Indian projects.
On Feb 27, Rahman will release his latest independent album titled ‘Raunaq’, which he describes as a very personal album filled with heartfelt compositions.
