PVP Cinema has reportedly acquired the Telugu and Tamil rights to the Bollywood hit, 2 States. The movie is based on a novel of the same name written by popular writer, Chetan Bhagat. It is the story about a couple coming from two different states in India, who face hardships in convincing their parents to approve of their marriage.

The novel is said to be inspired from the real life story of the author and his wife Anusha Suryanarayanan who are from Delhi and Tamil Nadu, respectively. The huge success of the novel created a lot of hype around the movie which had Arjun Kapoor and Alia Bhatt essaying the lead roles. Directed by Abhishek Varman, the movie was produced by Karan Johar and Sajid Nadiadwala and released on April 18, 2014 to a positive reception at the box-office.

Further details of when the movie will be made in Telugu and Tamil have not been released by PVP Cinema, but an official announcement is expected soon and a popular actor in Tollywood is reportedly being contemplated for the Telugu version. Actresses such as Samantha, Tamannah and Shruti Haasan.
