Pushpa Trailer: Pretty OrdinaryThe theatrical trailer of one of the most hyped releases of the year, Pushpa – The Rise, is out. It had its share of drama before the trailer hit online. The entire process has escalated the expectations big time, and its result is an underwhelming feeling.

Pushpa – The Rise is the story of the rise of a Pushpa from a red sandal smuggler to a don. Well, that’s what one gathered from the various songs and the trailer, too, points in that direction.

The grandeur of Pushpa, especially in the making and action, was never under doubt. The trailer reaffirms that right from the first frame. The action and visuals look spectacular.

But, when it comes to the actual content, Pushpa is seen as lacking. The voice-over at the start or the first dialogue heard from Allu Arjun, the romantic track, and finally, the punch at the end– everything looks very ordinary.

The dialogues and Devi Sri Prasad’s BGM are the primary reasons for ordinariness. The editing, too, is a bit chaotic. One feels considerable pressure on the team to impress and leave an impact. In the process, it misses the very objective.

Icon Staar Allu Arjun looks terrific with the rugged mass makeover. It can’t be overstressed at this point. Much effort has been put into the dialect, which is also impressive. However, beyond these details, the rest doesn’t generate that ‘wow’ vibe based on the trailer visuals.

Despite all the mixed feelings, it is still a trailer. The same scenes as part of the narrative could have a better impact; one never knows. So, there is always a benefit of the doubt. We have to wait for the movie to see the reality, but sure the trailer would bring the expectations under check.
