It is all but confirmed that Pushpa: The Rise will be available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video from the 7th of January. But the makers are now said to be in last minute negotiations with the makers.
Pushpa: The Rise is performing surprisingly well in the Hindi belt. With this in mind, the makers are trying to delay the OTT premieres. They are discussing the same with Amazon Prime Video now. They are trying to at least delay the OTT release of the Hindi version as the film is doing particularly well in the North belt, and the OTT release will presumably dent the same.
However, Amazon too is keen on cashing in on Pushpa’s craze while it is still hot. The OTT giant insists on premiering the film on 7th January. With the onset of the third wave of Covid, the OTT release can’t be held back for too long.
Hadn’t it been for the last minute negotiations with the makers of Pushpa, Amazon Prime would have dropped an update on the film’s premieres date today. From what we here, the makers are requesting Amazon to hold back on the Hindi version. Further developments in this regard will determine Pushpa’s OTT release prospect.
