According to a report in the Times of India, a conventional religious outfit volunteers beat hero
Suriya’s photos with sandals shouting slogans against him while tearing his pictures. About 75 volunteers are said to have participated in this protest.
They even tried to burn the hero’s photos but the timely intervention of Coimbatore police is said to have stalled the incident and the mob was brought under control preventing any untoward incident.
Previously, Suriya raised his voice against conducting NEET exam for the intermediate students and earned the ire of the traditional religious and right-wing outfits.
There had been voices against conducting NEET entrance exam amidst the COVID scare demanding for the postponement. Suriya’s statement also came in this scenario.
