movies-piracy-and-court-actionsWith corrupt and inept systems in place every where, people in the country almost lost the faith in our system. But every time judiciary comes to the rescue making sure the things fall in place at least in the last minute. However the courts also seemed to have failed in controlling the piracy demon haunting the films.

Few days ago we have seen ace director Mani Ratnam knocking the door of Madras high court against the Internet Service Providers, Search Engines and websites that have aided the piracy of his movie, Ok Bangaram. He obtained injection order from the court for controlling the piracy but yet nothing can be reined in the online sphere.

And now the makers of Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan and Irrfan Khan starer Piku also got a similar injection order from Delhi high court for their film releasing on May 8th. The court directed all the leading ISPs of the country to block access to the infringing websites mentioned in the plea and those that would be communicated in future. We will have to see if the order will be toothless this time!
