Several factors come into play when it comes to the theatrical returns of a film. Likewise, there will be numerous aspects that constitute for a film’s failure. Here is one such interesting observation related to the failure of the recent release, Virgin Story.
The producer of Virgin Story, Lagadapati Sridhar made an interesting comment when asked how he feels about the film’s box office returns.
“To be honest, I am a little disappointed about the theatrical revenues. The footfalls are pretty low. But there is a reason behind it. When the makers of Bheemla Nayak announced that the film is releasing on the 25th, my film – Virgin Story which was announced for release a week prior to that lost all the buzz. The same happened when I released Potugadu. Attarintiki Daaredi’s release was preponed all of a sudden back then and my film lost all the momentum at the box office.” Sridhar said.
Well, producers often have formal reasons when it comes to opening up about the box office failures of their films. If this is one such formal reason from Sridhar, it is all fine. But if he is actually seeing this as the sole reason, then there is more introspection to be done.
