Price Hike for Sankranthi Releases - A Mindless Move?Reports are emerging that Sankranthi Releases have been granted Ticket Prices Hikes in both the Telugu States. The Ticket Prices will go up to ₹200 in AP and up to ₹150 in Telangana even for Single Screens for January.

A few theaters have already opened their bookings and the response has been lukewarm. Exhibitors are saying that these hikes will make up for the lost 50% occupancy due to COVID SOPs. On the other side, there is a divided opinion about these hikes.

“These are the times when the trade should actually think about how to bring the audience to theaters. You are preventing a section from coming to the theaters with these exorbitant prices. This is nothing but greed,” the common filmgoers say.

If the talk is bad, this may become counter-productive except for the openings. Ravi Teja’s Krack is the first release in the festive season releasing tomorrow. Vijay’s Master, Ram’s Red, and Bellamkonda Sreenivas’s Alludu Adhurs are the other festive releases.
