Director Maruthi is back with a new outing Prati Roju Pandage. The theatrical trailer of the movie is out now, and we must say it ticks all the right boxes despite containing a very regular and predictable premise.
The good thing with Maruthi is the way he puts forth his core point without beating around the bush. He further showcases the glimpses of entertainment and drama in equal doses. In Prati Roju Pandage we get the routine premise, but the comedy and drama centred on it seem engaging.
The whole packaging and the presentation of the cast look refreshing. The writing gets the credit here. Sai Dharam Tej and Raashi Khanna look lovely as a pair. Sathyaraj and Rao Ramesh are expected to bring depth. The latter especially seems to be in fine form based on the dialogues given to him. The closing one stands out. The hopes would be high from ‘writer’ Maruthi to get the entertainment aspect spot-on. The trailer does provide hope on it.
The music of Prati Roju Pandage could have been better. It is on this angle Maruthi has stumbled a bit. S Thaman usually manages at least one chartbuster song. Here, there are a couple of decent numbers, but lacking big time on the blockbuster appeal. A hit song would have changed the pre-release expectations genuinely.
