Prabhas-Director-MaruthiBoycott is the term that is being extensively heard now. Particularly so in the Northern belt as a section of the Hindi audience have made it a point to boycott most films for varying reasons right before or after their release.

Cut to now, we are seeing the boycott trend in Tollywood and that too for a film featuring a non-controversial hero like Prabhas. And what’s more interesting is that his own fans are trending the boycott movement even before the film is launched.

Earlier today, there have been reports that Prabhas’s next with Maruthi will be officially launched tomorrow. This led to serious repercussions from Prabhas’s fans.

A section of Prabhas’s fans are now trending the hashtag “ #BoycottMaruthiFromTFI” on Twitter. They want Prabhas to cancel the film with Maruthi and hence the negative trend on the director. There are several tweets in this context in the last 2 hours or so. They say Maruthi isn’t capable of handling a superstar like Prabhas and moreover Prabhas himself can’t risk with small directors after delivering Saaho and Radhe Shyam.

But what Prabhas fans need to note is that it isn’t right to ask to boycott a film a day before it’s launch and especially so, when a hero has okayed the director and the script.

They are writing off Maruthi like he’s a nobody. Maruthi might be in a dry run now but he has indeed delivered substantial hits like Bhale Bhale Magadivoi and Mahanubhavudu with healthy comedy.

So, instead of doing negative trends a day before the launch of their hero’s film, Prabhas’s fans should trust in the judgement of the actor and leave things be. Needless to say, these negative trends account for nothing as a project won’t be shelved over a Twitter trend.
