Ponniyin Selvan Trailer Talk: Story of India's Greatest EmpireThe trailer of the much-awaited Ponniyin Selvan, directed by Mani Ratnam, has been released. Kamal Haasan has lent his voice to the trailer released in Tamil.

The trailer introduces all the characters in a grand way. Vikram plays Aditya Karikalan, Karthi plays the adventurous Vallavaraiyan Vandiyadevan, Jayam Ravi is Arulmozhivarman, Trisha is Kundavai, and last but not least, Aishwarya Rai as the scheming and beautiful Nandini looks enticing.

The war scenes have been shot well, but we have seen all that before. The ship scenes remind us of Aamir Khan’s Thugs of Hindostan. The trailer does leave a good impression, if not a great one. Among the characters, Aishwarya Rai leaves the maximum impact as she has the most interesting role. Trisha looks beautiful.

AR Rahman’s BGM and Ravi Varman’s cinematography are impressive. The fight scenes could have been better. Dialogues (Telugu) by Tanikella Bharani are decent. SRK’s Redchillies VFX are of good standards.

PS-1 has been produced jointly by Madras Talkies and Lyca productions. Touted as the story of India’s greatest empire, the PS-1 trailer raises curiosity to watch the film unfold on screen on September 30th, when it releases in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Hindi.
