The euphoric special screenings of Mahesh Babu‘s Pokiri were held yesterday, marking the occasion of the handsome actor’s birthday. Fans celebrated the re-release in a big way and this is by far the biggest ever re-release for any Telugu film to date.
In a few theaters across Andhra Pradesh, a few got over excited and incurred losses to the theaters. Going by the newly surfaced snaps on Twitter, the silver screens were torn in a few theaters.
This is not a wise act as damaging a screen would incur big losses to theater managements. This isn’t what they would be expecting when they screen a special show of a film for the enjoyment of fans on the occasion of a star hero’s birthday.
An expert has pointed out that these silver screens can cost as much as Rs 15 lakh. If that is the case, then damaging the property is a worthless act by the culprits.
Meanwhile, there are reports that Pawan Kalyan’s Jalsa might also be given a re-release. We need to wait and see how this pans out.
